Our editorial standards
The RightPT Knowledge Center exists to give patients honest, evidence-based answers about physical therapy — including what it costs and how paying cash works. Here is how we hold ourselves to that.
We write from the evidence
Content about conditions, symptoms, treatments, and recovery is written from peer-reviewed research and published clinical practice guidelines — not opinion, and not whatever ranks well. When major trials point away from a common treatment, we report what the trials found.
We cite our sources
Clinical claims link to peer-reviewed research and clinical practice guidelines, listed at the end of each article. Where evidence is weak or mixed, we say so plainly — including for treatments physical therapists offer.
We keep content current
Every health article carries the date it was last updated and is revisited on a schedule. Cost and reimbursement figures are checked more often than clinical content.
What our content is — and isn't
Our guides are education, not medical advice, and reading them is not a substitute for an evaluation by a licensed clinician. RightPT is a cash-pay marketplace: our cost guides explain reimbursement you can pursue after paying a therapist directly. We don't sell insurance advice, verify coverage, or file claims.
How education relates to our marketplace
RightPT makes money when patients book physical therapists through our marketplace. Articles link to our therapist search, and we label those links clearly. Editorial conclusions are never influenced by whether a therapist appears on RightPT.
